What they do

What are Home Care Service Plans?

Home Care Service Plans are service contracts that help arrange non-medical assistance in the home. They are designed for seniors who want a practical way to prepare for future care needs that may not be covered by Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage, or traditional health insurance.

Many health care programs focus on hospital stays, doctor bills, and some short-term skilled nursing. They often do not cover everyday help at home, such as meal preparation, bathing assistance, grooming, errands, or overnight care.

  • Meal support

Meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and monitoring diet or food expirations.

  • Personal care

Assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.

  • Home tasks

Laundry, ironing, changing linens, and light housekeeping during urgent care.

  • Reminders and errands

Medication and hydration reminders, errands, appointments, and approved accompaniment.

Care options

Agency Hours and Anytime Hours give members two ways to arrange help.

All home care services must be authorized and arranged by first contacting True Freedom Customer Care Coordinators.

Agency Hours

Agency Hours are provided through a network of licensed and registered home care agencies within the True Freedom Network.

They are available for up to 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Anytime Hours

Anytime Hours allow members to choose a friend or neighbor to provide approved home care services. The person cannot be a family member, relative, or someone living in the same household.

Anytime Hours may be available any day of the week and during any hours, including overnight and 24/7 live-in home care.

Built-in discount reward

Planning ahead can lower the cost of maintaining the plan.

Members can earn a 10% discount upon the anniversary renewal of their plan for each year that no home care hours have been used.

The discounted rate can peak at 40% and remain at that level until the member first accesses home care services. Additional discounts may be available for annual payments or enrolling with a spouse or partner.

Non-use reward can build up to 40%

Enroll before care is needed

A True Freedom Plan must be secured before an individual needs or is receiving home care.

Independent at enrollment

Members must be able to live independently and perform daily tasks without assistance.

Progressive conditions matter

Members should not be experiencing or already diagnosed with a progressive condition affecting cognitive, physical, or mental capabilities.
